I went on my first backpacking trip of the season!! It was an overnight trip from the Loon Lake trail head to Spider Lake. It’s about 4.5 miles one way.
It took me a while to leave town, but I was feeling good when I did. I got to the trail head around 3:30 PM and started walking about 15 minutes later. It was a pleasant walked out to spider lake, if a bit slow. The weather was perfect.

I headed off trail at the large cairn and followed cairns to my campsite. All was well and good that night. I did get sick the following morning, but I had worked that into my schedule. And slept in until 11 AM. Then I finished packing and headed out.
I ran into a few other backpackers on the way back to the trail head. It was a pleasant trip.
